Léo Gugiel went up to 5x4 and served Lúcio Rocha who, taking advantage of a slip by Pauleta to gain space, shot from the middle of the street into the back of the net. The move seems not to have been handled well by Bernardo Paçó and Benfica opened the scoring (1-0) at Pavilhão Fidelidade.
