The game had two distinct phases, coinciding with the first and second half of the game, where in the first half Vila Verde was superior, while in the second half Correio da Morning was better. The superiority revealed by Vila Verde in the first half was less than the superiority that Correio da Manhã revealed in the second half, so I can only conclude that the result is fair. Vila Verde presented its arguments in this game, without any type of fear, starting to score HxH, with pressure on the entire field, with just some attention to closing the passing lines, when the ball was in possession of G.R. do Correio da Manhã, to force the ball to be passed to the player closest to G.R., immediately under pressure, especially the man with the ball. Throughout the first half, we managed to be quite effective in the way we pressed, allowing only two dangerous situations, one of which was a free kick, and the other a shot at the post, but made almost close to the baseline. In relation to our attack, during the first 7/8 minutes we were unable to present a very good quality of play, as we were also under a lot of pressure, opting to play with a pivot in an attempt to maintain possession of the ball, and then try to create finishing situations. After this period, Correio relaxed the pressure, giving us the opportunity to work better in attack, alternating 4:0 with 3:1, which allowed us to create some clear finishing situations, which we ended up wasting. In the second half we were unable to be at the same physical level, which led to less pressure, giving the Correio da Manhã players the opportunity to work on possession of the ball, which considerably increased the quality of their game, not least with the increase in their confidence levels, which allowed them to seek and win more individual duels. In short, in the second half we gave Correio da Manhã space and time to think and work on their game, which led us to concede 3 goals and only score 1.
NO GLOSS The CM team players blamed the game for responsibility, as it was a game of transcendent importance to save the season. The presence in the "Final Four" was at stake, which will give the opportunity to discuss winning the Portuguese Cup. CM's team started the game very badly, with nothing going well. Defensively, pressing was carried out poorly and offensively the actions were not worked on, with a great deal of tension, anxiety, lack of movement and fluidity in the attacks. The Vila Verde team entered the game well, defending in an active and aggressive way (in a good way), creating difficulties for CM, in the counterattack and planned attack. CM's starting 5 never found peace, which is why the substitutions were made, which brought more tranquility and control of the game. The difficulties created by V.Verde could have been materialized in a goal, in the 1st half, ending 0-0, let's face it, flattering for the CM. In the 2nd Half, corrections were made, the game took a 180º turn, making CM justice for the result. Without being well, CM's team was much better, creating and working on game situations better. The V.Verde team countered as much as they could, however, the result ended up appearing and given the breakdown of the V.Verde team in the final part of the match, it could well have been more extended, which would be completely unfair. With 3 minutes remaining, the V.Verde team tried to play with a 5x4 superiority (G.R. advanced), without taking any advantage. It was a lackluster victory. We had an obligation to do better. A word of appreciation and recognition for the work carried out at V.Verde. Some difficulties and defeats along the way should not discourage anyone who works hard during the week. The work is of quality and you have to believe in it. This team is missing from the 1st Division. Congratulations.
