PAVILION UNSUITABLE FOR CONSUMPTION After analyzing the conditions under which the game was going to take place, the CM team defended in a HxH with surveillance, set back compared to what is normally applied. What conditions? Pavilion unfit for consumption, given the heat that was felt, the rest time after the trip to Nisa (very little), the physical condition of some players and the fact that they were going to face a terribly efficient team at 3:1. In preparation for the planned attack, CM's game system was much more penalized, as its usual system, 4:0, requires more movement from the players. The CM entered the game poorly, while Sporting entered at full speed, creating difficulties for our last stronghold. However, Sporting would score a goal, in a move that was quite acceptable on the part of the CM players. At a disadvantage, the CM team balanced operations, pushed Sporting back and managed to score the equalizer, even before the break, which ended with 1-1. In the second half, physical condition prevailed, the CM team was withstanding the pressure from Sporting, who with great anxiety tried to reach the goal. The second half and much of the extra time had the same nature, with Sporting taking control of the game and CM defending well, with a great spirit of sacrifice and mutual assistance. And the wear and tear on Sporting's team had to give results, in the second half of extra time I brought on two creative and fast players, with some rest time and, the inevitable happened, the move that led to the goal. Unfair? It was simply a question of reading the existing conditions for playing the game and having the luck of the game on our side. Anyone who doesn't have a short memory will remember that what happened was quite the opposite and everything was fine, there were no refereeing problems and just a team that defended very well and was very good at finishing the counterattack. At those times, no one looked at who was responsible for the game and whose objective was to seek victory. We stopped being lyrical and simply realistic. It doesn't hurt for me to recognize that if the victory had gone to Sporting, it would have been fair and there was nothing to oppose, however, as paradoxical as it may seem, the victory also belongs to the CM, as the spirit of sacrifice and humility of his players would have to be rewarded.
The S.C.P. game with CM for the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup, it was another game where the team that played the most and best futsal did not obtain the victory, resulting in a tremendous injustice in the end. Sporting was the team that worked the hardest to win, completely overwhelming the opposing team at certain periods of the game (this situation was evident during the 2nd Half and extra time). The game tactics adopted by CM highlighted his inability to produce an offensive game in order to surpass the Sporting team. In this way, CM limited himself to defending from the beginning to the end of the game, extra time included, and here we must give credit to his players and his goalkeeper for the determination with which they did so. However, I think that, since they had plenty of time to prepare for this Final Four (they had been out of the title race for a long time), they would have had to do much better than simply defending well. What I want to say is that the performance of the CM collective falls far short of the potential that their individualities envision. As for Sporting, I believe that the team's biggest drawback was in terms of finishing. It should be noted that the high temperature in the pavilion and the fatigue accumulated throughout an exhausting season did not allow us to perform at our best level. However, despite all these difficulties, the fighting spirit and capacity for sacrifice, as well as the individual capabilities of the team members, allowed us to completely dominate the opponent, even without obtaining the desired result.
