The game was a hymn to futsal, between two teams that play to win and when that happens, futsal wins. Benfica was always the best team on the field, with more quality, with more opportunities. We could have gone for a rout in the 2nd Half, but we wasted great goal situations and then had to endure Freixieiro's excellent reaction. Benfica and Freixieiro, at the moment, are the only two teams in Portugal that put on great shows. My players have enormous character and are largely responsible for these successes.
Freixieiro is a different institution from S.L. Benfica. However, you have to know how to lose and win and the General Director of the Benfica Futsal Section, Mr. Luís Moreira, didn't know how to win. It has to grow sportingly, as Futsal has also grown a lot. Benfica is a fair winner, creating more goal opportunities. Congratulations. I want to highlight the courage and determination of Freixieiro's players during the 40 minutes. They dignified Matosinhos and the institution they represent. They are true champions.
